Personalized Vaccinomics

As a parent, it can be overwhelming to navigate decisions around vaccination. With so much conflicting information and strong opinions on all sides, it's difficult to know what's truly best. Some families are exploring alternative or custom vaccine schedules, while others are choosing to delay or even forgo certain vaccines. At the same time, many pediatric practices across the country are dismissing families who request a slower approach or express hesitancy about vaccination.

As parents, the only thing we want to know is, “Are the vaccines safe for MY child?

Docs Genetics seeks to empower parents with the knowledge to make informed decisions regarding their family’s vaccinating decisions through genetic testing, something we are calling Personalized Vaccinomics.

Docs Genetics has developed three genetic tests, that are easily accomplished with a cheek swab at home, to provide a family with the genetic strengths and weaknesses of their child’s DNA. Armed with the knowledge of your child’s individual genetic makeup, you can then compare these to the risk factors in the vaccines.

We have created an interactive online portal so you may learn about your child’s risk factors and compare them to the side effects of the 82 vaccines and boosters the CDC would like each of our children to have before they turn 18 years old. Explore further in the portal and learn about lifestyle changes, whole food supplementation, and homeopathic options to strengthen your child’s health.

Docs Genetics is not saying, don’t vaccinate your child. We are recommending instead to learn about your child’s genetic make-up so you can make informed decisions for your child’s health.

For example, if you learn that your child is a slow methylator or in other words your child’s ability to detox pre and post vaccination is slow, the pace of vaccination is critical to not cause toxic overload for your child.

What if you learn that your child is genetically disposed to seizure disorders? There are a handful of vaccines that cause seizures in a certain percentage of people. With the knowledge in hand about your child’s genetic inclinations, you may choose to opt out of that vaccine. Or instead, you may use the portal to learn how to best keep your child safe while choosing to vaccinate.

Vaccination

Vaccination is a public health effort to prevent infectious disease (i.e. measles, COVID or the annual flu) within a group of people. However, not all people will respond to vaccines in the same way. Vaccine response varies for each person in the areas of effectiveness and safety. A vaccine can be very effective for one person and not prevent disease for others. Likewise, a vaccine can be very safe for most but also cause significant harm for some.

This variability is based upon our genetic makeup.

Vaccine programs typically give everyone the same dose at the same intervals with multiple boosters. However, what if you learn through anti-body testing that a particular vaccine is not effective for your child, it did not cause an immune response, would you continue with boosters? Or if your child produces a significant immune response and anti-bodies are present in your child, perhaps you could forgo boosters.

The decisions regarding vaccination should be as individual as the genetic make-up of each child.
